Course Objective

The course aims to provide participants with knowledge and understanding on:

  • Value propositions of sustainability reporting and management to the business

  • Materiality assessment and effective stakeholder engagement

  • Bursa’s amended listing requirement relating to sustainability disclosures

  • Reporting approaches based on frameworks like the GRI, and those referenced in the BURSA Sustainability Reporting Guide and Toolkits and others.

  • The steps necessary to institutionalise sustainability and the reporting process within an organisation

  • Best practices in sustainability reporting and management

Target Learners

Those responsible for institutionalising sustainability in an organisation including the development of sustainability reports, particularly those with a facilitator, preparer or contributor role.

Course Logistics

  • Two day classroom based training 

  • The discussion will cover the fundamentals of sustainability reporting as well as various reporting criteria, such as the GRI Standards and Bursa Malaysia's sustainability-related listing requirements, report-critiquing exercise, discussing about what constitutes a good and bad report, and highlighting the issues that both domestic and international sustainability reports frequently have.
